How did it all start?
In 2011, I worked in a medium-sized Estonian company as a sales and marketing manager and my workload was driving me close to a burnout. I had problems concentrating and coping with stressful situations. Furthermore, I was easily offended and sometimes overheated emotionally. It happened that I shouted at people and broke things. I didn’t know what to do with these symptoms. I was unhappy. Eventually, I started searching for ways to reduce my physical and mental tension.
The same year, I started studying Ashtanga Yoga at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute under the guidance of Jocke Salokorpi. Ashtanga Yoga is simple. As Guruji once said: “99% practice and 1% theory. Practice, practice and practice, and you will succeed!”
Then I discovered conscious breathing
In 2014, I participated in a pranayama breathing workshop by Sami Mälkiä. Right on the first day I realized that wow, this pranayama thing is great: you just sit there breathing and relaxing, and believe it or not – you´ll reach a relaxed, clear, peaceful and happy state of mind. A piece of cake! And so I became a pranayama breathing practitioner.
In 2017, in cooperation with Sami Mälkia and Sudir Tiwar, I became a pranayama breathing teacher at Go Yoga studio (Narva mnt 7d). I teach Swami Kuvalayananda pranayama breathing.
Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Relief System
I was looking for a path that I could walk with an inner balance. I was keen to develop myself and keep discovering more.
In April 2018, I graduated from the Body Awareness Institute, completing the third level of Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Relief (BBTRS) therapy training.
By learning and practicing BBTRS, I realized that I enjoyed helping others with tension and trauma relief. It was gratifying to find how much the participants benefited from the sessions: that cannot be measured in money or in other tangible assets. BBTRS therapy is a way to help people to shake off traumas experienced since the moment of conception and start enjoying the new quality of life.
Through practice and contemplation, I have come to an understanding that my mission in life is to share acquired breath and bodywork techniques with the world. In order to go on with my mission I have created the Pranayama Tallinn club. I also organize conscious breathing classes and courses in Estonia, and conduct Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Relief therapy sessions.
To sum it up
I firmly believe that if conscious breathing has made my own life and the lives of thousands of others fuller and happier, breathwork techniques also have the power to change your life. Come and explore!
